Promise 10: Meet with business owners regularly to understand their needs

I have been self-employed since 2003 when I left Amway to start a one man product engineering firm. This change was one item on my bucket list and has been an exciting road, but the first few years were quite stressful. Self-employment isn’t easy and it isn’t right for everyone, but I applaud anyone that gives it a try. I like the saying that it is better to try and fail than to wish you had.

One of the reasons I am running for city council is to help in anyway I can those that try a new business in Lowell. I don’t want city requirements or fees to be a detriment to a new owner.

The second reason I am running is to represent our many great existing business owners. Many don’t live in the city and can’t vote their desires on city spending, taxes, etc. I promise to meet with them regularly to learn how they need help. Strong healthy businesses are essential for Lowell. I will do all I can to keep them strong and successful.
