This is the most important promise that every elected official should make and keep to the citizens. I promise to look out for your best interests at all times. If elected, I will put in the time and energy to represent you well. I will come to council meetings having already studied the topics and ready to lead the discussion. I will look forward to working with my fellow council members at each meeting to make positive progress.
My votes will come from listening to the residents and businesses and their needs. I will of course do what I can to ensure that the city remains a vibrant, financially strong, and desirable place to call home. I will represent all citizens regardless of differences and will shun bias (preconceived opinions). I will avoid any conflicts of interest. Some particular areas of my focus to help you:
* Setting a tax rate that is fair and not overly burdensome (Promise 7)
* Maintaining excellent city services (Police, Fire, Water Treatment, Parks, Public Works)
* Being careful with city spending (Promise 6)
* Improving access to housing (Promise 15)
* Encouraging new businesses (Promise 16)
* Keeping Lowell financially strong
I have tried to convey my passion for helping you and the city in each of my articles (21 Promises). They are summed up in Promise #1: I will devote myself to representing you well at city hall. I would appreciate your vote. Thank you, Eric Bartkus
